Jordan Henderson Injury Blow for Ajax

Missed Next Match

Ajax manager John Van t Schip has confirmed that Jordan Henderson is likely to miss Ajax's next match after the midfielder suffered an injury during the recent international break.

Captaincy Debut

Henderson was handed the captaincy on just his fourth appearance for Ajax, but he was forced off the pitch with a hamstring injury in the first half of the match. The injury is a blow for Ajax, as Henderson has been a key player for the club since joining from Liverpool in January.

International Break Impact

Ajax boss Johannes vant Schip revealed that Henderson picked up the injury while playing for England in a friendly against Italy. The midfielder played the full 90 minutes of the match, but he felt discomfort in his hamstring towards the end of the game. He was then forced to withdraw from the England squad for their match against Denmark.

Return to the Pitch

Henderson has since returned to training with Ajax, but he is not yet fully fit. Van t Schip said that the midfielder is likely to miss the club's next match, but he is hopeful that he will be fit to return for the following game.

Ajax Commitment

"I'm very happy to be back," Henderson said after returning to training. "I've been working hard to get back on the pitch as soon as possible, and I'm now feeling good. I'm looking forward to getting back into the team and helping Ajax achieve our goals."
