The Portuguese coach has been out of work since being sacked by Manchester United in December 2018. He has been linked with a number of jobs since then, including the Real Madrid and Inter Milan posts, but nothing has materialized.

Fenerbahce are believed to have offered Mourinho a two-year contract worth around £10 million per year. The club are looking to challenge for the Turkish Super Lig title next season and believe Mourinho is the man to lead them to success.

Mourinho has a wealth of experience in management. He has won league titles in Portugal, England, Italy and Spain. He has also won the Champions League twice, with Porto in 2004 and Inter Milan in 2010.

He is a controversial figure, but there is no doubt that he is one of the most successful managers in the world. Fenerbahce will be hoping that he can bring his winning ways to Turkey.
